Harry Potter Series:-

1)Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (July 1997)

The first of the series that starts with Harry Potter living a miserable life with his horrible mortal relatives an aunt, uncle and a spoilt, fat cousin named Dudley. He has never had a birthday party in the eleven years of his sad life and home for him is a cupboard under a dark staircase. But all that changes when he gets an invitation from Hogwarts - the greatest school of magic ever. It is here that he meets his best friends Hermoine and Ron. He learns to fly brooms and play Quidditch. Helps a dragon hatch, learns magic spells and is gifted an invisibility cloak. Harry also 'meets' his worst enemy - Voldemort - for the first time.

2)Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets (July 1998)

After a dreadful summer break at the Dursleys, Harry can't wait to go back to another year of magic and witchcraft at Hogwarts. Just when he is leaving, he bumps into an impish creature called Dobby who warns him of more disasters that await him when he gets back to Hogwarts. The second year has new sets of problems like a stuck-up new professor, Gilderoy Lockhart, a spirit named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girls' bathroom, and the unwanted attentions of Ron Weasley's younger sister, Ginny. But all this pales in comparison to when students at Hogwarts start turning to stone. The prime suspects here are Draco Malfoy, an evil rival; Hagrid whose traumatic past is finally revealed; or could it be Harry Potter himself causing all this trouble?

3)Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (July 1999)

The infamous prisoner, Sirius Black has escaped from the dreaded prison of Azkaban. Sirius Black was the apparent heir of Lord Voldemort and was convicted for killing thirteen people with one single curse. There are only two clues to finding him - guards who have heard him mutter in sleep:"He is at Hogwarts" and when Harry defeated Voldemort it led to Sirius Black's downfall as well. Harry is not safe even at Hogwarts especially when there is a traitor amongst them.

4)Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (July 2000)

Harry Potter is halfway through his wizard training at Hogwarts and wants to get away from the terrible Dursleys to go and watch the Quidditch World Cup. Besides that, a competition takes place at Hogwarts involving two other rival magic schools - a competition that has not taken place in a hundred years. Harry becomes a participant much against his will. When all he wants to do is dream about Cho Chang and live a normal life of a fourteen year old. But there is a lot more in store for Harry Potter including some dangerous and deadly dealings.

5)Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix (June 2003)

Harry is having nightmares of a door at the end of a spooky and quiet corridor. The fifth year at Hogwarts comes with another set of problems like a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who is not entirely understood, a new member on the Gryffindor Quidditch team and ordinary wizarding level exams. But above all, what is causing the most concern is a looming threat from Voldemort which neither the Ministry of Magic nor the authorities at Hogwarts can solve. Harry must test and understand the strengths of his friends and make a difficult sacrifice.

6)Harry Potter And the Half-Blood Prince (July 2005)

Harry's battle against Voldemort is by now at fever pitch. Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts is absent for long stretches of time, and the Order of the Phoenix has already suffered losses. The sixth year in Hogwarts has its own set of problems as well. Students are learning to apparate, there is romance in the air and Harry is receiving some help from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince. In the sixth book Harry explores and understands the full and complex story of the boy who became Lord Voldemort - and thereby discovers what may be his only vulnerability

7)Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (to be released July 2007)

Harry Potter is not only liked by kids but also by adults .

Well, I enjoy imagining that there are some wizards living along with us in this world..

And Think ,,These wizards calling us Muggles...

I have read all the 6 books of Harry Potter..

I enjoyed them too much.
I think it is high quality, intelligent entertainment.

I even watched The movie "Harry Potter and the goblet of fire",
but I didn't like it as much.

I feel reading the books is a far-better experience than watching the movie.

well,I am eagerly Waiting for the final Harry-Potter book........

Are you also waiting?

Movies----crazy kiya re

Crazy Kiya Re

Indians are crazy about two things- Cricket and Movies.

Movies are our life-line.

We learn from movies and movies learn from us.

Hindi film songs suit our every mood .I am talking about old film songs which were meaningful.

I was also crazy about movies when I was a kid.

You won't believe I used to keep track of all the movies of my favourite
actor or actress.

I knew the names of all the movies of -Madhuri Dixit , Salman Khan and few others.

Even I made such lists in my diary.

I even liked the hindi film songs.

I made the list of songs having a particular word as its theme.

Eg., Zindagi

AE Zindagi gale laga la.......
Zindagi mere ghar aana........
Tujhse naraaz nahi zindagi hairan hoon mein.......
Zindagi ka safar hai yeh kaisa safar............

I was really crazy about this hobby of mine.

Even I used to think myself as a heroine of song whenever I heard any song on radio and enact the song.

But the situation has changed drastically now.Now I am hardly interested in movies.

Though sometimes I watch movies in a multiplex ,,but now they don't have any effect on me.

I still like hearing songs,,meaningful romantic songs .

Some of my Favourite songs are:-
Pal Pal dil ke paas ,tum rahti ho.........
Raat kali ek khwaab mein aayi...............
Pyaar deewana hota hai ,mastana hota hai.........

I think now you must be bored of my chit-chat.

so,bye

They melt in mouth as soon as one puts them in their mouth.

I am not crazy for chocolates, but I do love them .

You know eating chocolates has a disadvantage that it increases your body-weight..

So, eat chocolates ,but also take care of your weight.

Cricket - Dreams shattered

Dreams shattered

Today I don't know what to say.

All our dreams to win world cup are now shattered.

Shameful thing is that we were not even able to reach super-eight.

Whose mistake:

Rahul Dravid-Captain
Gregg Chapell- Coach
Sachin Tendulkar
Saurav Ganguly

or whole team......

I had never thought that this will happen.

Was it our mistake to glorify our team which was not worth it.

Whatever,

Feeling Sad.

Bye

Cricket-World Cup

Today is the deciding match for India.

India is going to face Sri Lanka today in world cup.

It is a do-or-die situation for India.

If we lose the match today,we won't be able to reach super-8.
and our team will have to return back from West Indies.

Atleast ,now we don't have to worry about run rate,as Bangladesh's run rate is in negative after being beaten by Srilanka.

So, we just have to win the match today by defeating Srilanka.

My Best Wishes for the match today.

Ooo Aaa India

Ae India jeetade

Let's hope for the best.

All the Best , Tigers of India.

so,watch the match at 7.00 p.m. today

and Japp for the cup.

SUDOKU-A CRAZE

Sudoku

Today I want to talk about my favourite Pastime : Sudoku.

It's fun. It's challenging. It's addictive!

Earlier when I used to see sudoku,,I was really very puzzled as to what it is and how it is solved.

Now you can say ,I have become an expert in solving sudoku.

What is Sudoku?

Sudoku, is a Japanese, fun puzzle game. It requires the player to fill in the 9x9 square grid with the numbers one to nine. The numbers should be arranged in such a way that each row, column and mini-grid contains one of each number. A single error in a Sudoku throws the whole game out.

" Fill in the grid so that every row,
every column, and every 3x3 box
contains the digits 1 through 9. "

That's all there is to it.

There's no math involved.

The grid has numbers, but nothing has to add up to anything else.

You solve the puzzle with reasoning and logic.

Solving time is typically from 10 to 30 minutes,
depending on your skill and experience.

Well, it also depends on the difficulty level.
My maximum time is 15 minutes for highest difficulty level.

History of sudoku

Sudoku — or something very similar to it — was invented in the 1780s by Leonhard Euler, a mathematical virtuoso from Basle. When he lost his sight in early middle age and was unable to work from books, he developed the ability to compute complex sums in his head and a talent for composing puzzles.

He invented a grid-based puzzle and named it “Latin squares”. It was, in all material aspects, identical to sudoku, yet it remained barely noticed until it turned up — renamed the “number place game” — in America in the 1980s.

It was spotted by Nobuhiko Kanamoto, employee of a Japanese puzzle magazine. The Japanese made the game slightly more difficult and renamed it sudoku, meaning “number single”. Today there are at least five Japanese sudoku magazines with a total circulation of 660,000.

It began appearing in The Times, London last November and has since spread to every newspaper. A mobile phone version is up and running. TV pilots are being planned. Certainly nothing comparable has been seen since 100 million Rubik’s Cubes were sold in the early 1980s.

Why is sudoku fun?

The simple answer might be that puzzles are fun and new puzzles even more fun. But the truth is more complicated.

Humans have been puzzling since the dawn of time, and the ability to think logically has long been recognised by science as a key element of natural selection. All societies puzzle but, as a rule, the most successful ones puzzle more.

“You cannot find a culture, no matter how technologically primitive or advanced, that does not have puzzle traditions.”

In this sense, sudoku is neither new nor old. The game requires you to fill in a 9x9 square grid (broken down into nine mini grids) with the numbers one to nine, arranged in such a way that each line, column and mini grid contains one of each number. The objective is childishly simple, yet infuriatingly difficult to achieve.

Uses of sudoku

“Sudoku is bound to make kids interested in math, even those who run away from the subject, as it is very enjoyable”.

“A child needs to juggle a lot of factors simultaneously to solve a sudoku puzzle. So it sharpens his reasoning and computation skills.”

“Puzzles are a very interesting way of making a child discover underlying patterns in things, which is what math is all about,” says Debkumar Mitra, research director, Derek O’ Brien & Associates.

How famous sudoku is?

A numbers game has become as popular as Rubik’s Cube. Sudoku may finally make math fun for children.

There is a monster on the loose, and it is out to eat your brain.

Pitiless in its advance and deadly in its cunning, sudoku, a seemingly simple numbers game, has become the biggest puzzle craze to hit the world since Rubik’s Cube.

It’s all over the newspapers and spreading across the Internet.

Most of the newspapers publish one sudoku daily.

So they are out there, in every home, on every Metro train, in every office. Scribbling, scratching, swearing... sudokuing. Will it be the puzzle that ate the world?

So,enjoy solving Sudoku..

MY IDOLS

Hi friends,

How are you,

Everyone has some idols whom he/she wants to follow in their lives.

I have also been influenced by some great personalities like:-

1)MAHATMA GANDHI

There are many people who blame this person for partition and many other things.

But What our father of nation has done ,nobody else can do.

Earlier only some sections of society were fighting for freedom.
Every section had its own way of fighting.

The main contribution of Gandhiji was that he converted this struggle into a mass movement.

With every common man fighting for his country.

I admire Gandhiji for his Leadership qualities .
He believed in simple living and high thinking.

I like the way he never accepts defeat.
He keeps on doing his work.
He is a very humble person.

He teaches me to keep going on.

GAMES

Games

Do you like to play games ?

Don't say no !
According to me everyone of us love to play games

As a child we play lot of games .

Lot of indoor and outdoor games..

Hide and seek ,,,Ludo,,Snake-ladder,,Tambola
Dumb-charade,,,these are the games I have played in my childhood.

I also used to play Antakshari,,Card games ,,and one very nice game which we called NPAT

NPAT means Name Place Animal Thing
In this game, one alphabet was given by one person and all the rest used
to write any person's ,place's ,animal's and things' name starting with that alphabet.

Have you ever enacted any drama.
I have ,along with my 1 brother and 2sisters .
we used to enact the play "Ramayana"
In other words we used to play Ramlila.

And guess which part I played,,?
Can't guess,,ok..I will tell u.
I always played the part of sita.
Being the youngest among the group.I had the privilege to choose any part I liked.

I haven't played much outdoor games.
My brother used to play cricket.

So many games chidren play.....

But now we see children only hooked to their video games or computer games..

Games which do not let them interact with other children..

Times have changed....

There are many games which we play as adults,,I wil tell about them in my next post..,,

Movie - "Nishabd"

Hi EVERYONE,

HAVE YOU WATCHED THE MOVIE "NISHABD".

Stars: AMITABH BACHCHAN AND JIYA(newcomer)

A VERY CONTROVERSIAL MOVIE.
This movie is a love story of a 60 yr. old man and a 18 yr. girl.
That girl is the friend of his daughter.

Indian audience is not able to digest this fact.
People in India can't think about this. This is morally wrong..

After watching the movie I told my friend that in Ancient times,,a person's life was divided into four parts.
1)1-25yrs --for education
2)25-50yrs---for family life
3)50-75yrs--for social service
4)75-100yrs---vanaprastha...

After seeing the movie I remembered this as in the end I was full of sympathy for that man, because of social pressures he had to leave the girl but his family also leaves him and he was not even able to forget his new love.

Prevention is better than cure..I think people should try to avoid such things in life,,because it only ruins their life.

It's always struggle and struggle.
even at age of 28 I am not settled.
it is an age most girls get married and settle in life, but for me
that is also not the thing.

i have to struggle in love also.
